Founded by the Weinberger family in 1869, Stonemaiden was one of the original stone wine cellars in St.  Helena.  The matriarch, Hannah, became Napa Valley’s first female winery owner and winemaker.  Since 1999, William and Jane Ballentine have had the honor of continuing the vision of Hannah and the legacy of the Stonemaiden.  William Ballentine chose Cabernet Sauvignon from our estate in St. Helena and Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot from our estate on Howell Mountain.  He carefully blended each varietal to reach a perfect balance.
